‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11, episode 20 preview: Ellen Pompeo, Jessica Capshaw star in plane crash redux

“One Flight Down” is the title for the next new episode of “Grey’s Anatomy,” and we feel like we don’t really need to stress just how emotional it is going to be to watch when you remember that a plane crash is at the center of it. While it may not directly involve our main characters, they still do have to treat others who were involved in it. This will not be easy for them to handle. You probably saw a little bit at the end of tonight’s new episode, and the synopsis below makes it even clearer as to what you can expect:

“A small plane crash in Seattle causes multiple casualties and brings back horrible memories for the doctors, especially Meredith and Arizona. Meanwhile, friction between Owen and Amelia makes for an uncomfortable working situation for Stephanie.”

This episode already suggests that there is going to be some great stuff for Ellen Pompeo and Jessica Capshaw to play, and while the Stephanie story may be somewhat in the back seat, you have to wonder whether or not she is going to figure out her future anytime soon.

As for the promo that aired after the episode, it made itself revolve almost exclusively around one theme and one theme alone: Where in the world is Derek? What is happening to him? We are going to have a chance to figure that out, but it may take a little bit of time.
