‘Twin Peaks’ cast rallies together to try to save series, keep David Lynch

Showtime -

Clearly, “Twin Peaks” is a show that has a devoted following. It also seems to have quite the devoted cast. In the video below, you can see a variety of original cast members including Madchen Amick, Sheryl Lee, Kimmy Robertson and more advocating for the series to be continued as planned, and with original co-creator David Lynch on board. This was first posted onto Amick’s WhoSay page, but you can check it out now below.

This video was posted Monday as a rallying cry following the surprising news that Lynch has walked away from the potential series revival on Showtime after what he claims are over a year of negotiations. He ultimately felt like there was not enough money being offered for him to create the series that he wants to create. Let’s be clear here: It’s not about how much money he wants for himself, but how much he wants to properly make a third season of the show.

Despite Lynch’s move, we do still think that everything can come together here. If he was unhappy with his present situation, then the only way he may have saw to change it was to get the public involved. Regardless of whether or not you like “Twin Peaks,” it is impossible to really imagine the series airing without having Lynch involved in some substantial way. It just would not be the same show.

One of the major omissions from the video is Kyle MacLachlan, who was one of the first castings for the Showtime revival. He has remained largely quiet on the news since it broke, opting instead to spend some of his time promoting his other work, including “Agents of SHIELD.”

We will have some other news on the revival of the show soon, but for now head over here to get some other updates. Also, you can sign up now to score some other TV updates on everything we cover courtesy of our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: Showtime.)
