ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 4 spoilers: Emily VanCamp has company from fellow ‘Everwood’ alum

Remember “Everwood”? This was the show that propelled Emily VanCamp to popularity, and when you consider this, we are admittedly in some ways surprised that we have not seen more characters from this series stop by “Revenge” at some point during its run.

That is changing for one actor in Tom Amandes, who played VanCamp’s TV dad on that series. As confirmed by Emily’s own Twitter, Tom is coming aboard for an episode that is most-likely airing near the end of the season. As for who he could be playing, there are a few not-so-subtle clues here. For example, he is dressed to the nines in a suit inside what appears to be a courthouse, while Emily is getting her “Orange Is the New Black” vibe on. (View the picture here.)

So is Emily Thorne / Amanda Clarke heading to prison before the season ends? That’s a pretty easy and pretty acceptable interpretation of what is going on here, with another one being that this is all a part of some sort of much-larger scheme to take someone down behind bars. Amandes could be playing either her attorney, or someone on another side.

Regardless, having Emily potentially get comeuppance for her crimes would be a fascinating way to end this season, and potentially end the series as a whole depending on what ABC decides to do with the series. After all, you do have to remember that while we do root for Emily most of the time, she has left a trail of bodies in her stead. She is far from an angel, and if she is caught, it’s going to be awfully hard to clear her name.

“Revenge” is off the air this coming Sunday, and will return on April 12 with the episode entitled “Exposure.”
