‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 spoilers: Rebecca Mader’s return, the Author in photos
Ready for some wickedness to return to “Once Upon a Time“? Well we hope that you are the patient type, because while we do know that Rebecca Mader will be back in the next new episode entitled “Heart of Gold,” you’re going to have to wait to see it until Sunday, April 12 for new episodes of the show. For some reason, ABC has decided that Easter Sunday is too nerve-wrecking a holiday to air a tale about the Queens of Darkness. Given that this is the premiere date of “Mad Men” (and AMC is clearly taking the risk), we don’t quite get the hiatus.
Nonetheless, the attached photo is of Mader being awesome once again as Zelena, with the main question being how in the world she is back in action. The promo that aired after Sunday’s episode made it appear like she was back in the present and more powerful than ever, but the only way we could presume that is taking place is via some sort of uber-powerful spell. Who does it benefit to see Zelena back in Storybrooke? The answer is really “no one.” Given that Rumpelstiltskin killed her, he’s not chomping at the bit to see her again. As for Regina, family reunions just have not gone the best for her over the years. Just look at things between her and Cora.
Also, here is a clearer look at Patrick Fischler as the Author, who is back in the Enchanted Forest again. As much as we like our current cast, major kudos to Adam Horowitz / Edward Kitsis for not just making the Author someone we’d already met in seasons past. The whole connected-ness of the series is sometimes a good thing, but with family trees turning into tumbleweeds it can be a little much.
The biggest attribute that we’d attach to this Author so far? Cowardly. He may have been better off being stuck in that book, based on the way we saw him run away recently.
