‘The Walking Dead’ season 6 spoilers: See Scott M. Gimple’s cryptic tease

More news -We expected to hear much more from Scott M. Gimple following the finale for “The Walking Dead” Sunday night than we really did. Most of the attention on “Talking Dead” ended up being diverted instead to surprise entry Lennie James, who we presume is going to be a very big part of the story now that Morgan has finally made his way to Alexandria and is now part of Rick and his survivors.

However, we did get a tiny tease from the showrunner at the end of “Talking Dead,” as host Chris Hardwick read a simple letter (transcribed via Entertainment Weekly) that sets the stage for what should be an insane series of developments moving forward.

“For a good while now, humans have been the bigger threat. At the start of our next season, that will change. I said the show reinvents itself every 8 eps, and we’re doing it again, friendos. Now that these characters know they have what it takes to survive, what are they going to do with that power? How will they choose to live? Beyond answering those questions, we’re currently putting into motion some of our most ambitious stuff yet, and things are going to get very big, loud and scary.”

What does “big, loud and scary” really mean? To us, the simple answer is that there will be more walkers than we’ve seen as of late, or possibly something else that causes the survivors to become very afraid for their future. Please, let’s just hope that it’s not another sickness like we had in the prison. Anything but that!

Sadly, this letter makes little mention of Negan, otherwise known as the villain we are dying to see. Also, if humans are not the biggest threat moving into the next eight installments, we have to consider that he’s not a part of them … unless of course Gimple has become a supervillain capable of composing something a million times more sinister than one of the most-feared foes from the comics.
