‘Big Brother Canada 3’ review: Is Bobby acting a tad too oblivious?

Bobby -If there is one thing about Sunday night’s “Big Brother Canada” episode that disappointed us slightly, it was the way that the show completely threw a great character in Risha into the garbage bin. Maybe we needed this to be a two-hour episode or something, since we were given ultimately no information about her allegiances in the house, or some of the events that took place in the days leading up to her going home. We know from talking with her that the house was planning to evict her anyway, but it may not have been that cut-and-dry.

The person who came off the best tonight (that did not really come across that great on the feeds) was Godfrey, who has been a target due to something that happened regarding trying to flip the vote when Risha was in danger. Unfortunately, we have no idea what that is, and since he was not the primary target of Head of Household Bobby (who won the competition over a very flirty Sindy), it did not work itself into the episode in any kind of organic way.

Bobby’s entire strategy as revealed in this episode was to be completely neutral and non-strategic, even if there was a method to his madness. In a move designed to “not anger the house,” he put up Kevin and Brittnee. They were the first two out in the Head of Household Competition, and it was an easy argument to make. However, he recognized that Kevin is a strong social player, and probably everyone including Marsha the Moose knows that he did not try hard in the competition to win. It’s a decent move on his part, at least from the vantage point of not making waves.

As for some other revelations this episode…

1. The Have-Not room is a little gross, but let’s be real: We’ve seen far worse.

2. Many alliances were revealed and discussed, including Newport (Jordan / Zach), the Fortress (Jordan / Kevin), the Chop Shop (Bruno, Bobby, Willow, Zach, Ashleigh, and Graig), and a three-person women’s alliance with Sarah, Naeha, and Brittnee.

3. Of course, Kevin felt safe right before getting nominated.

4. The nomination ceremony was really pretty cool, with the gears and the levers.

5. Are there more instant-criers this season than ever? It’s possible.

Overall, a fun episode despite our complaints, but we just needed more time with it! And, more information! Grade: B+.
