‘The Flash’ spin-off spoilers: Is there reason for Robbie Amell omission?

The Flash -Even though we are getting closer with every passing day to the CW upfront presentation, we still are not getting a heck of a lot of information regarding the upcoming “Arrow” / “The Flash” spin-off that has basically been described as a “superhero team-up.”

One of the biggest burning questions regards the status of Robbie Amell, who plays Ronnie Raymond on “The Flash” and also one-half of Firestorm. Even though the other half of the character in Victor Garber is going to be on the new series, the jury is still out on Ronnie. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly in a new interview, executive producer Greg Berlanti said that there was a reason why he was not announced in the cast, but he could not say what it was for now. It’s possible that there is a secret creative reason as to why he is not around; or, maybe there is a business-related reason that will be sorted out. Time will tell.

Berlanti did also add in here one of the reasons why he thought that doing this particular show was so appealing, and much of that ties back into his connection with many different works from the past:

“For me, it honors all of the great team up movies, whether it’s Ocean’s Eleven or whether it’s the superhero books … That’s what it’s about. If you go back to the old westerns, there would be The Lone Gunman, but there would also be The Magnificent Seven. It’s very much in the spirit of those kinds of movies and shows.”
