‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 spoilers: ‘Mother’ dearest

Once -Once Upon a Time” is a show of many mysteries, and some of the biggest ones tend to revolve around episode titles. Often, there are about a billion different interpretations of an episode’s name, and this is precisely the sort of dilemma that we are in right now with “Mother.”

According to a new tweet from show co-creator Adam Horowitz (see below), “Mother” is the name for the upcoming 20th installment of the season. Also notable here is that this episode is written by Jane Espenseon, who has penned some of the best installments of the series so far.

On the surface, the easy assumption here would be that this is a reference to Cora, given that it has already been reported that Barbara Hershey will be reprising her role as the character at some point later this season. Cora’s a great character, and with that in mind, we’re happy to see her. However, what else is there to tell about her story? We already know why Regina hated her throughout her life, and she’s also dead in the present unless someone comes up with an insane way to revive her.

Regardless of what the title is about, count on this to be a huge episode. After all, this is the 20th installment of the season, and it could be the second-to-last week that the show airs a new episode. While we don’t know ABC’s finale schedule yet, we certainly would not be shocked if they doubled up on episodes and made the finale a two-hour affair. They certainly have done that in the past.

So while we wait to understand the meaning of this further, let us know what you think about the title in the comments! Also, head over here in the event you want some other TV magic sent over to you via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: ABC.)
