‘Glee’ season 6 video: Darren Criss, Chris Colfer explain Kurt / Blaine phenomenon

Kurt -The sixth and final season of “Glee” is now finally in the books, at least when it comes to the production side of things. Filming is finally complete! This means the cast can just sit back, relax, and allow the rest of the action this season to unfold.

It also means that there are some opportunities to get a little bit nostalgic. This is what Darren Criss and Chris Colfer do in the video below, as they each reflect a little on the massive popularity of “Klaine” following the wedding that they had last week alongside Brittany and Santana. These two characters first and foremost met during the second season of the show, and while it took a little while for them to get together, it was pretty clear from the first frame that there was going to be something big there. They certainly had plenty of breakups and makeup moments, but it ended with what everyone was waiting for. Obviously, there is more story left to tell, but we doubt their relationship will have a huge focus the rest of the way.

Culturally, the impact of these two is something that was hugely significant. There have been gay characters on TV for ages, but how many of them were given a romance as epic as a straight couple? Usually, gay characters (at least five years ago) were regulated to a snarky line or an exposition question here and there. They were an inspiration to many young people, and it helped to bring up conversations that many weren’t having at the time the show started.

If you love the characters, we expect you to smile wide after watching this.
