‘NCIS’ season 12, episode 16 preview: Movie debate and the latest case

NCIS -Given that we are coming off of the Academy Awards on ABC, doesn’t it make at least a certain amount of sense that we are focusing on movies at the start of our new “NCIS” preview? We certainly like to think so.

Of course, none of the movies discussed here are actually movies that have come out in the past few years. Instead, the focus is a little more geared around the likes of “Top Gun” (which Bishop apparently just watched) and “Frozen,” which sparks quite a lively conversation before Gibbs enters the room. For some reason, we would have watched this movie dialogue go on for quite a while longer, and we do not quite imagine us getting bored with it.

As for the case itself, this is a little different than standard NCIS protocol. Why is that? The simple answer here is that we are talking about the murder of a civilian, and that is not the sort of thing that the group usually handles. There is probably a deeper connection here, and that is something we will learn over the course of the episode.

Ultimately, what we do at least know with confidence at the moment is that this episode is entitled “Blast from the Past,” and we are going to be taking visits at some point in the hour to a very different time in Agent Gibbs’ past. This is when he was working undercover in the tech world, which is very ironic given that he is just now upgrading to a smartphone.
