‘The Bachelorette’: Andi Dorfman reflects on Josh Murray breakup

There were quite a few moments on Sunday night’s special episode of “The Bachelor” that ended up being headline-worthy, but we know that there was one that everyone was waiting to see: Andi Dorfman’s first interview since splitting from Josh Murray. We expected emotion, and at the end of the day, this certainly did not disappoint in the slightest. She was crying even just in the teases that we got leading up to the show, with her claiming that this was a huge “failure” and that Josh was her first great love of her entire life.

We anticipated going into this interview that Andi would be emotional. How could she not be? We feel like every star of the show would at least like love, even if they are there for their careers or other reasons. Then, when it doesn’t work out, you feel a ton public pressure to explain yourself.

This interview was jarring from the get-go, given how little Andi cried during her season compared to how she was here. It was even more jarring given how happy she came across during the red-carpet premiere for Chris Soules’ season. Andi claimed that they had not decided on a breakup at the time of the premiere, and it was that event that helped to raise questions.

In a way, this interview was frustrating in that Andi really did not answer anything, other than saying that neither party was a “calming force” to the other one. However, at the same time we’ll give her some credit: She did not badmouth Josh at all, and it didn’t feel like he needed to be there to defend himself.
