ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4, episode 13 preview: How Kerry Washington, Tony Goldwyn handle ‘No More Blood’
We have to give credit to “Scandal” right now for really sticking to their guns. It would be pretty easy for the series to just tie together this “Olivia Pope is missing storyline” in an episode or two, but instead, next week’s “No More Blood” is going to be the fourth straight installment of the series that features this particular plotline, and Kerry Washington’s character will continue to be in a holding pattern.
So who can she rely on now to secure her safety? You want to think that Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) will be able to help her, but the reality here is that this may not actually happen. There are still, after all, a number of roadblocks still in his way. The synopsis below makes this clear, even if it is not exactly long in terms of length:
“As the bidding for Olivia Pope continues, the gladiators fight to save her but The White House fears that they may lose her for good.”
The problem the White House faces is leverage, money, and really opportunities. This is such a complicated game, and Mellie’s role in everything makes it so much more complicated. This includes her relationship with Andrew, and also the revelation that she wants to run the country as President.
The big tease that was made apparent in the promo for this episode was that we are officially going to see just who bid on Olivia in the first place. All we’ve heard so far is that “Iran” is involved, but that is a pretty large blanket that could still mean anyone.
