ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7, episode 15 preview: Is Stana Katic’s Beckett in danger?
Tonight, you saw clearly what was a very intense episode of “Castle,” but the most important thing after checking this out is remembering that “Resurrection” was just the tip of the iceberg. “Reckoning” is the episode where you are finally going to get many of the answers you have been so hoping for, and that includes learning whether or not they’ve truly seen Jerry Tyson already … and if Beckett is about to be the next victim. Suffice it to say, it certainly appears in the promo below like she is in serious danger.
Also, the synopsis below makes it very clear that Castle could be handling the bulk of the action without Stana Katic’s character at his side:
“In the second installment of the Castle two-parter, stakes rise as the 12th Precinct matches wits with serial killers Jerry Tyson (3XK) and Dr. Kelly Nieman. With the clock ticking, Castle and the team must crack the case before the killers claim their next victim.”
One final thing worth noting here is that “Reckoning” is being written by creator Andrew W. Marlowe, which is another big sign that this series does at the moment have an enormous amount invested into the story of Tyson, and they want to ensure that it has a proper end … if this is the end. The question here is mostly whether or not the writers / producers want to close the door on this right now, or pave the way instead for something a little later down the road where they can bring them back.

Perhaps the most surprising thing to come out of part one is that the ratings were flat. Since the hiatus the viewership has been hovering around 7.5 million viewers per episode .with a 1.6 demo, down from the halcyon days of previous seasons of 12.63 million with a 2.2 demo.
Long ago Marlowe had said the series would end when Beckett had a baby, could this be a harbinger.

Yes you are right, the baby thing is dangling before our eyes just to prepare the Fandom for the series finale, Castle is averaging 8.61M live viewers for the season which is 1.4M viewers off the mark. albeit it picks up on the Live +7 ratings.
Hey we had a great run, I don’t see in the horizon any other series that could take its place in the heart of the audience.

Agent Carter would fit that time slot perfectly. And they are doing what Marlowe refused, open ended episodes , a continuos story line.

I think initially they are going to find a clone of Becket but they won’t know immediately. Possibly they find her either dead or dying and when Lanie does the autopsy they find out it’s not the real Becket OR they find two Beckets and they have to decide which is the real one before they shoot the cloned Becket.
