‘How to Get Away with Murder’ episode 12 preview: Is Viola Davis’ Annalise in trouble?

Tonight, ABC’s “How to Get Away with Murder” aired what may be the series’ finest episode, a twisted and emotional tour de force that brought us to where we really wanted to be this season: Where the truth was out there in regards to Sam’s death. His body was found in a landfill, and now there is no more running for Annalise Keating and the five who were heavily involved in the cover-up. On next week’s new episode “She’s a Murderer,” they will have to realize that things are not going to look very good.

For Annalise, what we will see is that any sort of small step forward she made with Hannah tonight is going to lead to a gigantic step back in the other direction. Now, Hannah thinks that she is the killer, aided in part by all of the added information that she now knows. This is not good news for Viola Davis’ character in the slightest, given that she clearly was not counting on the chain of events to unfold quite like it did.

So what about Wes and the rest of the students? Here, the test is a little more of how far they can continue to separate themselves from this mess. While they may not be primary suspects given that they don’t have that relationship history that Annalise does, they also cannot be completely ignored. It would be silly to do so once some of the clues start coming in.

If you thought that this show was stressful and crazy for these characters before, prepare for what lies ahead now.
