‘Glee’ season 6: Naya Rivera lands new role on ‘Devious Maids,’ will return to ‘The View’
Naya Rivera no longer has to worry about what her future holds beyond “Glee,” at least when it comes to scripted TV. After all, she is the latest star of the Fox series to find herself some other work.
According to a report from Deadline, the actress will be playing a major recurring role on “Devious Maids” season 3 as Bianca, who is new to the scene, but also stumbles upon some surprising revelations after working for an extremely wealthy Beverly Hills family. This could be a very different sort of role than Santana Lopez, who did not seem to be interested in responding to any authority … and who also had a tendency here and there to break out into song.
Rivera also is set to return to “The View” as a guest co-host a little later this month. She has already stirred up gossip in both of her previous appearances there, where she talked about everything from Justin Bieber’s Calvin Klein ads to the shower habit of people by demographic, a topic that got her in hot water with many.
Many actors on “Glee” right now are in the process of plotting out what they want the rest of their careers to be. For example, we know now that Lea Michele will be staying with Ryan Murphy on his new series “Scream Queens,” while Jane Lynch already has more hosting duties and Heather Morris has some movie roles. We suppose that we’ll hear more about some other members of the cast when we get further into pilot season later this spring.
