Super Bowl commercials: Budweiser returns with more ‘lost dog’ stories (video)

Budweiser -While its sister beer in Bud Light may choose to air lighthearted, often-boozy commercials for the Super Bowl, Budweiser often chooses to go for the heartstrings. Their commercials rarely have anything to do with beer, but the company has figured out a way in which to ensure that they can implement some other familiar themes that are recognizable with their brand.

The latest example of that? The lost dog. They’ve used the famous Clydesdale horses for years, but the dog has become more prominent over the past couple of years.

The good – It’s emotional, it stars a cute puppy, and it really inspires you to never want to give up on things. Budweiser has managed to become a household name for the Super Bowl. It would be almost strange at this point to not see a commercial like this during the game.

The bad – This is a company that has taken bigger risks before, but this time around, it feels like they just took what worked in 2014, and then just changed up a few elements. It’s not going to get the same level of attention.

The verdict – This commercial may make you start to tear up a little, at least if you love animals like we do. We’re not going to sit here and say that it is the most original concept in the world, but this is a company that has obviously found something that works very well for it. With that in mind, why in the world would you deviate much from that? This has been watched more than 12 million times already for a good reason. Grade: A-.
