‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 spoilers: Lana Parrilla on Regina, Henry, and the Author

Regina -To say Regina had a heartbreaking first half of “Once Upon a Time” season 4 would be an understatement if there ever was one. Just think about what she has been through. She found out that Marian was still alive, dealt with the arrival of the Snow Queen, and then saw Robin Hood leave just so that he could ensure that the rest of his family would live and be happy.

The only real hope that the character has is for her to prove that there is a way for someone with her history to get a happy ending. This is where the Author enters the picture, along with the frequently-mentioned Operation Mongoose. Will she and Henry make some real progress here? It certainly seems that way, based on what Lana Parrilla herself had to say to Entertainment Weekly:

“This is a quest that has been quite difficult for Regina … With all the research she’s done thus far and Operation Mongoose, she keeps hitting dead end after dead end. She’s lost some faith in ever finding this author, but she’s still not going to give up. A lot of that positive reenforcement comes from Henry in being the heart of the truest believer, who keeps her afloat and keeps encouraging her to not give up. He plays a huge part in finding clues. They work together and start to find clues leading to the discovery of this author, so that will play out for the remainder of the season.”

The good thing here is that we feel like fans eventually do want to see Regina happy on this show. They just are aware that it may take a long time for it to happen. We’d like to see it by the end of the season, or at least a glimmer that more hope is coming.
