‘Top Chef: Boston’ episode 13 preview: The beginnings of the finale in Mexico
There are only three chefs left in the proper competition of “Top Chef,” but pretty early on moving into Wednesday night’s new episode, you are going to be able to add another chef to the mix.
If you missed it, the final “Top Chef: Last Chance Kitchen” episode is here, and the winner from that (still to be determined, but in our mind we’re leaning towards Doug) is going to get to re-enter the competition right when things are truly going to be getting intense south of the border in Mexico. There is going to be a pretty incredible challenge revolving an ingredient we’ve never even eaten, let alone cooked. Also, we’re going to find out a little bit about Mexico’s art culture. One of the interesting things about this particular episode is that we may actually learn a whole lot in addition to seeing some tasty food. (If only we could taste it!)
For a few more details in terms of what you can expect, all you have to do is take a look at the synopsis below:
“In the first of the three-part finale, the three finalists head to San Miguel de Allende in Mexico where they are greeted by head judge Tom Colicchio who invites them to watch the final cook-off of Last Chance Kitchen and learn which eliminated chef will rejoin the competition. Award-winning Mexican chef Enrique Olvera introduces the Quickfire Challenge where the chefs must create a dish highlighting the Mexican ingredient xoconostle, a special type of prickly pear. San Miguel de Allende is a mecca for artists all over the world, and the chefs’ creativity is put to the test when they are challenged to create a unique dish inspired by a local artist’s work for the Elimination Challenge. Cooking at the famed Instituto Allende, the chefs will have four hours to prepare dishes for an event while their artists complete a new work of art that will be on display.”
We’re amping up our coverage leading to the finale, so one thing you can expect coming up very soon is a rankings article! We’ll tell you more of where we think all of the remaining chefs stand as we inch ever closer to the dropping of the curtain.
