‘Game of Thrones’ season 5: Watch the trailer for the IMAX event now!

“Game of Thrones” has become a clever and pretty crazy beast when it comes to marketing. They’ve managed to discover a way to get more money out of their franchise by convincing people to pay for something in IMAX that they’ve already seen, and probably already paid for. Yes, there is supposedly going to be a season 5 trailer in there, as well. We’re really not criticizing people at all for wanting to do this. It’s going to be a heck of an experience.

Below, you can see the trailer that IMAX has already released for the spectacle, which runs from January 29 until February 5 and features two season 4 episodes: “The Watchers on the Wall” and “The Children.” This marks the first time that a TV series has ever had an opportunity to appear in this format, so it is kind of a big deal.

HBO is being rather creative these days when it comes to giving you as many different things as possible to look forward to in the midst of this hiatus. That is a good thing, since they are not bringing the show back until Sunday, April 12. We’ve heard a variety of reasons as to why the show is waiting so long to do that, with the biggest one being that they want to ensure that their standalone HBO Go service is ready. Why wouldn’t you wait, too? This show generates more money for them than anything else, and this may be one of their ways to hamper the rampant piracy that happens with it.
