‘The Voice UK’ review: Meet Clark Carmody, Sasha Simone, Jake Shakeshaft, and more
Tonight, the second edition of the Blind Auditions on “The Voice UK” arrived, and we spent at least a reasonable portion of this episode wondering one very thing: Are we perhaps spending a little too much time filling up the show? This was nearly an hour and a half, and there was really only around a half-dozen or so singers with a substantial future in the competition. While Tom Carpenter and some others were entertaining enough, we want to focus more on the future.
Therefore, this is what this article is all about in the notable acts who advanced with coaches in tow.
Jade Hewitt – We always find it interesting hearing some country performers on the British version of the show, since country music is not nearly as popular across the pond as here in the United States. She was solid; nothing we’ve never heard before, but a fun addition to Team Ricky.
Classical Reflection – We cannot say we’ve heard anything quite like this on the show. It’s another opera act, and a duo one at that! Twins turned classical singers make for a great story, and they should also make for a very good addition to Team Ricky.
Jake Shakeshaft – The latest member of Team Will is a guy with an awesome name, and a pretty killer voice to boot. Anyone who loves Ed Sheeran is probably going to be very happy to see that he is sticking around.
Sasha Simone – She’s a bricklayer, and her story in some ways only adds to the mystique around how awesome her voice is. Team Tom has a potential vocal warrior here with her.
Shellyann – She seemed like the perfect addition to Team Tom. That’s what makes her so surprising as a part of Team Ricky. Then again, there weren’t any other choices. She wasn’t the best singer tonight, but there were still some things she did that were interesting.
Clark Carmody – He was one of the final singers auditioning today, and the hairstylist has some pipes! A very good voice, but let’s be honest here about the obvious conclusion to his audition. why would he pick anyone other than Rita Ora? The crowd was chanting for it!
