‘King of the Nerds’ CarterMatt Podcast: Previewing the cast, season, and more with Jessa

We’ve been hyping up the “King of the Nerds” CarterMatt Podcast for much of the past week or so, and now, it has finally arrived! This is your guide to help prepare you for what will be coming up this season, and also a way to get acquainted with the cast (just in case you want something to go alongside the spotlights that we are already bringing to the table).

This podcast is a little different than most, since we’re basically flying almost-blind here, with the biggest resources on the cast being their videos on TBS’ official website, and also what little information we (being CarterMatt co-founders Matt Carter and Jessa Carter) could scrounge up in our research before recording. Part of the fun here is figuring out just how good or bad our pre-show predictions are once the season actually starts (#KelseyGotRobbed).

In this podcast, we have many philosophical questions, beginning with the realization that we suddenly feel very old about what is or is not in nerd culture these days. We make our picks for who is going to win this season, say who we’re worried about, and question a few casting moves along the way. Our minds can be changed in-season, but let’s be honest: How boring would this be if everything was exactly what we wanted going into the premiere? (Plus, this is the internet. This is the realm of opinions!)

We’re not going to spend too much more time writing here, mostly because that is what the spotlights are for. Just know that we’ll have one of these podcasts every week following the latest new episode, and you can subscribe on iTunes to get them, and also some podcasts on some other shows like “The Celebrity Apprentice” and “Arrow.”
