‘Glee’ season 6 spoilers: Darren Criss, Lea Michele look on during ‘Sing’ performance

Blaine -We have another look today at the upcoming “Glee” season 6 premiere, and this time around, we’re putting the focus on a song that is probably going to be one of the more notable ones that you see in the January 9 episode: “Sing.”

What’s the big twist here? It is as simple as the fact that neither Darren Criss nor Lea Michele actually have a prominent role singing in it (at least until near the end). Instead, the Ed Sheeran hit is actually performed by an array of Warblers who are all studying to be the best under Blaine’s training. After failing to land much of a career in New York, he has come back home, and will hopefully be able to reclaim some of his former glory. Rachel Berry will be doing much of the same thing, with the real difference being that she is coming back from Los Angeles after having made a television pilot. She burned so many bridges in Broadway by leaving “Funny Girl” early that ultimately, she also cannot go back there.

This song is lively, and at least is a reminder of some of the great renditions that the Warblers have performed on the show throughout the past four seasons. With Blaine’s new job, odds are that we are going to see more of them beyond just this one performance.

Ultimately, what we feel could be one of the most exciting things to see from them would just be finding out more about Dalton Academy, and how this place really functions beyond the walls of the performance halls. It’s always been a little enigmatic.
