‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ spotlight: Will Kate Gosselin transition well from TLC to NBC?
We have been very fascinated with Kate Gosselin on “The Celebrity Apprentice” ever since she was cast. We remember covering her family extensively back when they were the talk of the tabloids and America back in 2009, and in terms of name recognition, she is probably one of the most-noteworthy people on this season.
With that being said, she is also a wild card. She is very polarizing among Americans, and while she is most-likely good at delegating (it’s a requirement for having eight children), we’ve never seen her in this sort of setting, or dealing with this many other adults. This is probably going to be crazy, and we cannot wait to see what happens.
Claim to fame – Being the star of “Jon and Kate Plus 8” on TLC, which eventually became “Kate Plus 8” after the two parties divorced. She has also appeared on “Dancing with the Stars” and published a few books.
Advantages – For one, she is used to long hours already as a mom, and the camera presence should not bother her, given the stress she has with her family. She is constantly in a leadership position in some ways, and also knows very well how to argue her case. It’s interesting in a way how many of her skills leading her family could translate well to the boardroom. We also expect her to be a lightning rod of conflict, which is something that can help you stick around.
Disadvantages – Is she going to handle being away from her children? This is different than “Dancing with the Stars,” where everything is happening in real-time and you can travel back home. This show is super-intensive. Also, we don’t see her being a huge draw to get people off the streets. or her having a particularly big list of celebrity contacts that she can call for donations.
Charity – Camp Barnabas. This is a Christian camp designed to help children with disabilities.
Prediction – Hopefully, this goes better for Kate than “Dancing with the Stars,” but we almost foresee a Gene Simmons sort of exit where she leaves earlier than we expect, but in a very dramatic fashion. We just see her having problems with some other contestants, and to add to that, she will also struggle to be away from her children for so long.

She is and always has been looking for excuses to be away from her kids. If you remember watching the show she actually looked for reasons to get away from them loke going on vacation with her bodyguard and leaving her children with Jon. That marriage broke up long before they renewed their vows in Hawaii, just another trip she wanted that TLC paid for.

She’s used to long hours already as a mom? How is she going to handle being away from her children? LOL. Who writes this stuff?
Her NANNIES are the ones who have ‘long hours’ playing mom to the kids. How is she going to handle being away from the kids???? SERIOUSLY? She LOVES being away from the kids! She leaves EVERY chance she gets! And this CA was no exception! She and her ‘bodyguard’ shacked up in the hotel room together the entire 3 weeks she was away filming CA!
Oops. Guess I just let the cat out of the bag, now didn’t I? Yep. She gets the boot in the blink of an eye.

That’s the only good news. Now if they will just keep her off the air, it would be a happy day! No more Kate, no more kate, no more kate!
