‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 spoilers: Norman Reedus teases dark place for Daryl without Beth

The latest -We don’t think that we can really say that “The Walking Dead” is ever an easy world for anyone to live in. After all, this is a place where death is around every corner, you have to spend much of your time outdoors, and you probably smell pretty awful.

So for something to make this experience somehow even worse is a pretty big deal. This is the sort of circumstance that Daryl Dixon is now approaching moving into the second half of season 5. With the death of Beth Greene, the character is losing someone who was a close friend and a confidante, and for the fans, someone they were hoping to see him with romantically (at least a certain percentage of them).

So how is Daryl going to be without her around? As Norman Reedus explains to The Hollywood Reporter, both he and the other characters are going to be a little bit depressed:

“Beth’s death is like Sophia’s; she sings songs and was always hopeful … Of course she tried to kill herself at one point, but besides that, for the most part, she was this sweet songbird, and that represents a part of humanity that you don’t see anymore. So when you put that candle out, it goes dark for everyone.”

We wonder whether or not Daryl is going to have a few people to serve as a crutch of sorts for him, or is he will respond to this by being violent, and somewhat going off the rails. It does have to be hard for him; rarely does he ever get close to anyone, and then when he does, they are taken away from him.
