‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 spoilers: Will Andrew Lincoln’s Rick keep Gabriel around?

Rick -If there is one thing that we can say about Rick Grimes on “The Walking Dead,” it is this: We have a guy here who constantly means business, and at this point, he has become completely ruthless. Nobody gets in the way of getting the job done, and it does not quite matter who we are talking about here.

So when it comes to Father Gabriel, we have a hard time thinking that he is going to be altogether receptive to keeping this guy around forever. He’s a liability, has no interest in killing, and may not be much of a help to anyone moving forward.

Still, the man is out there! When speaking on this subject to TV Guide, executive producer Scott M. Gimple made it very clear that while Rick is ruthless, he’s not evil. Therefore, don’t assume the worse for Gabriel just yet:

“Rick has seen that this guy is not necessarily a villain … Gabriel is somebody who is just catching up to what the world is and his place within it. Rick still has a great deal of that humanity left. He isn’t simply a monster, and I think that’s good for Gabriel.”

It may sound rather silly, but above all, we just want to know at the moment what the deal is with Gabriel. He’s a character who could be interesting, but for some reason for us, nothing is adding up for him just yet. Maybe it just takes a little time.
