‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: The curious case of Deadshot

More scoop -Is Deadshot done on “Arrow” season 3? It is an interesting question, but also one that we have a simple answer for right now: It’s doubtful.

We do still understand the fear, at least in that with the upcoming “Suicide Squad” movie, it makes sense that “Arrow” would steer clear of most of the characters that are there … mostly from a DC perspective. Cupid is basically replacing Harley Quinn on the team, though we barely even saw Harley in the first place, so it does not even really matter.

The reason that we do not see Michael Rowe’s character going anywhere in the near future is simple: The show still needs the Squad. They are tied to Diggle, Amanda Waller, Lyla, and basically all of ARGUS. Deadshot has a story that is so emotional to the John character that removing him from the equation would take away some of the fun.

TVLine reported earlier this week that there has not been anything official just yet in regards to a potential Deadshot return, but our suggestion right now is simple: Patience. We feel like something will come eventually. They clearly wrote the ending for Cupid’s story earlier this season in such a way to implement her into the Squad, and it would be such a tease for her to not be a part of this season.

Ultimately, we suppose we will be finding out soon enough. Production is a few episodes ahead of where the show is right now in 3×09, but there are many more episodes still to come even beyond that. Remember here that “Arrow” does make 23 episodes a year, compared to the standard 22 for some shows.
