‘Arrow’ season 3: Manu Bennett’s found himself another gig
Is it going to be a little bit harder moving forward to get Manu Bennett for multiple episodes of “Arrow“? It is possible, at least based on the latest gig he just signed on for.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bennett, who plays Slade Wilson / Deathstroke on the show and is also known for “Spartacus,” has been cast in the upcoming MTV project “Shannara,” an ambitious show based off of a book series, and set thousands of years after the destruction of civilization as we know it. Shannara is the name of a family who holds a key to the world’s future. Bennett will play Allanon, a strong, intelligent man who is tasked with some very important duties that could hold the fate of the entire future.
Ultimately, this part seems perfect for Bennett, and we don’t know much about the source material. He tends to excel in roles with great bravado, and where he can show off some of his strong, physical side. This is also an interesting when you think about the network; MTV has “Teen Wolf,” but they don’t have a whole lot else when it comes to genre programming.
As for Bennett’s future on “Arrow,” we figure that he will still be able to turn up as Slade. We know that there is at least one more appearance for him this season, and beyond that, it will depend on scheduling and the like. We love the character, and we are hopeful.
