‘Glee’ season 6 spoilers: First promo features Lea Michele, ‘Let It Go’ cover
Finally, Fox has decided to lift the veil somewhat on the sixth season of “Glee,” and in the process, they have allowed us to learn a few simple things about what the final season will contain.
First and foremost, Rachel (Lea Michele) is clearly back in McKinley. It does not exactly show why she is around again, but it has already been reported that she is going to help the students form a new glee club after her time in Los Angeles bottoms out, and her attempt to be a TV star fails. At some point, Kurt (Chris Colfer) joins her in her quest, while Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) is still being Sue Sylvester in all things bad and good.
Meanwhile, Blaine (Darren Criss) seems to also be back in Ohio, but is working with his old group in the Dalton Academy Warblers. Hooray for season 2 flashbacks! This is a story that should be fun to watch, since all of the major competitors for New Directions are led by familiar faces. As you may have heard, Will (Matthew Morrison) is now in charge of Vocal Adrenaline.
This promo also features a little bit of music; specifically, we are talking about “Let It Go” from “Frozen.” Maybe it is yet another attempt to have Rachel perform every song ever popularized by Idina Menzel (ironically also her onscreen mother), but we feel like she’d be doing this song regardless. It won an Academy Award! Also, every kid under the age of 12 has probably heard it at this point.
“Glee” will start with a two-hour premiere on Friday, January 9. What do you think about this first promo for the show?
