Sarah Paulson jumps from ‘American Horror Story’ to ‘American Crime Story’

While we know that there is going to be another season of “American Horror Story” coming up on FX, we are starting to figure out that there is going to be quite the cast turnover for it.

We reported earlier this week that Emma Roberts was going to be departing for another Ryan Murphy project in comedy / horror hybrid “Scream Queens,” and now, we come bearing a little bit of other news to go along with it: Sarah Paulson is moving other to another one of Murphy’s upcoming shows.

Sources confirm that the actress is joining the ambitious new anthology “American Crime Story: The People V. OJ Simpson,” where she will be playing the role of prosecutor Marcia Clark. Meanwhile, Cuba Gooding Jr. has landing the role of the former football star Simpson. This case was one of the biggest headline-grabbers of its time, and it reflects what the vision of this new show is: To tell true-crime stories through the voice of the show’s producers.

Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewsk are actually penning the script for the straight-to-series show, while Murphy will direct the pilot. While this does not mean that Paulson is going to be leaving “Horror Story” for good by any means, it will be difficult, marring some production schedule miracle, that she can take part in both programs.

As always, we are going to have some further updates as they come out. We anticipate this show getting on the air at some point near the end of next year, but it is all up to the schedulers at FX.
