‘Downton Abbey’ season 5 spoilers: What time does Christmas Special air on ITV?
In just three weeks from tonight, the “Downton Abbey” season 5 Christmas Special will officially be here, and we are here in order to answer another big question: At what time will this big special air?
Well, we can give you an answer right now: 9:00 p.m. London time on ITV. The timing of this is interesting, but also very smart for the network. If we were a Christmas Special superfan, what we would do here is watch the “Doctor Who” Christmas Special at 6:15, wait until 7:50 for the “Call the Midwife” special on BBC, and then switch over to ITV to check out the Downton Special at 9:00. That’s a lot of new programming for Christmas!
This special is one that should be entertaining for many to watch, and hopefully will also put viewers in a little bit of a festive mood at the same time. While there may not be a whole lot of information released at the moment regarding this big special, we can tell you that early indications are that this will be a far more positive story than what we had back in season 3, which may go down as one of the most depressing episodes that we’ve ever seen air on December 25. Last year, the only major criticism that we had to offer was just that the special was boring.
We are going to have some further updates when it comes to this event soon, so be on the lookout for more of that, including some potential season 6 scoop!

Robert Crawley in Season 4 was so selfish and controlling of Mary (I’m not a fan of Mary but her grief was so painful to witness) in her desire to take on the responsibilities of Downton Abbey Estate. His Mother, Violet told Robert to do the proper thing. He doesn’t listen to anyone, he’s incompetent. I want Edith to say this to all the Family ”This is My child, So Deal with it or Go to Hell!” Daisy studies so she can properly manage the Farm she’ll inherit. Tom Branson should be more political and write for Edith’s newspaper. Cora/Robert have treated Edith as a Stepchild and worse, she is wealthy now. So Bye! Screw this family. Tom Branson/ Matthew Crawley were very supportive of Edith. Robert even said Michael Gregson was not right for Edith!? Robert is contemptible. Robert never questioned Mary’s choices. Season 6 has to be the end of this tale.

I want to see Lord Merton and Isobel grow closer, and for Tom to be happy (I really do not want to see him leave, but if he feels he has to I understand). I would love to see Robert talk to Edith about Marigold and be kind to her like he was to Mary about Pamuk. It would be wonderful if the rest of the family learns about and accepts Marigold even if they do not go public, especially Mary (she ought to put her hatred of Edith behind her now). But I would really love to see Gregson turn out not to be dead after all, and come back to Edith and Marigold at the very end.

Downstairs, I hope Molesley and Baxter become a couple, and that Anna is freed (but not at the cost of her husband’s freedom) – I want to see a baby Bates!
