‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 5 spoilers: Marlene King on Paige, Emily’s relationship in Christmas episode

In under a week, the “Pretty Little Liars” season 5 Christmas Special will arrive on ABC Family, and with it of course will come a variety of different questions.

One such question revolves around the currently-fragile state of the Emily / Paige relationship. These are two characters who have been easy to root for at various points during the show’s run, but as of late, it is certainly an understatement to say that there have been some bumps in the road. The photo above suggests that the two will have at least one happy moment during the episode, but will it stay that way? Speaking to TVLine, creator Marlene King is coy, but does at least promise some development:

“Their relationship takes a few turns during the Christmas episode … There’s a lot that happens with them. It’ll be interesting to see how fans respond to their journey.”

For us, the big issue that these two people really do face is one of trust. They love each other, but when are they going to realize that it is okay to actually share information with one another? They are probably going to have some further problems until they actually stop and realize that this really is the best way for the two parties to be.
