‘The Amazing Race 25’ episode 9 preview: Misti & Jim’s terrifying task

Usually, we don’t take it too seriously when teams are afraid of heights on “The Amazing Race,” since there is always that reassurance that whatever they are doing has been tested a million or so times in order to ensure that everything is working properly.

With that being said, the challenge airing tonight, as seen in the sneak peek video below with Jim & Misti, is actually really terrifying. There is nothing about this that seems fun, and most of the fear comes from something not going according to plan. Jim is trying to get from one building to the other on a high-wire act of sorts, but loses his balance and ends up dangling. As you would expect, Misti is pretty scared for him watching it.

Obviously, Jim eventually makes it over from one building to the other, given that we doubt we would have this show on the air otherwise. There’s also no real reason to worry about these two for now, seemingly; we believe that they have one more leg where the save is applicable, and we have to give them credit: They managed to make it through the race pretty well since getting it. They had one bad leg, but they were protected regardless.

The biggest thing that we feel when it comes to this team is surprised. We never imagined that we’d like them as much as we do, given that they are for one dentists (not a big fan of dentists in general), and that Jim is intense beyond words. Maybe we like them just because we can view him as an almost-cartoon character.
