‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ spoilers: Geraldo Rivera talks role on show

When we first saw the cast for “The Celebrity Apprentice” earlier this year, we immediately had one reaction when it comes to Geraldo Rivera: Why in the world is this guy on the show? He’s a pretty well-known name, but more than that, he’s a guy who seems to make much of his money on being taken serious. This show’s best moments include wrestler Goldberg dressed as a giant tree, someone getting fired over fart jokes, and also Gary Busey trying to incorporate mechanical dog noises into an LG commercial.

Well, Rivera tried to explain himself recently in a new interview on Fox News, explaining that one of the major reasons why he wanted to do the show. Much of it, at least for him, stems from him wanting to a reality show at some point in his life. He has also known Donald Trump for a long time, and that played a role in this, as well.

How well will Geraldo do in the competition? That’s a mystery, and it is also something that we are going to examine a little bit further when we talk a little more about the season in some spotlight articles at some point next month. What we will say here, at least for now, is that this is a guy who is going to bring the drama to the table and then some. He won’t seek it out, but he is a man with strong opinions.

The new season of “The Celebrity Apprentice” will premiere on Sunday, January 4 on NBC.
