‘Longmire’ season 4 notes: Robert Taylor – Lou Diamond Phillips messages and more

Longmire -Longmire” fans, you’ve made it through the worst of times. Finding out that the show was canceled by A&E was difficult stuff, especially when it comes to the reasons why. Luckily, Netflix has proven themselves to be a savior, and there is no need to fret over the course of the holiday season about if or when an announcement will be made.

We want to keep you up to date on some little things here and there during what is probably going to be an extremely quiet period now, given the current timeline. With filming not expected until March, the writers room is going to really contain the only real activity for the next couple of months … and they are definitely not going to be saying a whole lot. No spoilers! We’ll never give anything important away to begin with. The surprise of that crazy cliffhanger with Branch last season is what made it so effective.

If Netflix does decide to ship out casting information (they vary on their shows from time to time), we figure that we’ll see some of that around the time we get close to production. It’s hard to really predict the rest without knowing a premiere date, and that is a long ways off. With the way that they release seasons all at once, there will need to be enough tome for the editors to finish every single episode before even the first one goes out. It’s a little different than the typical TV structure.

We’ll close here at the bottom with a pair of messages from Robert Taylor and Lou Diamond Phillips during the latest stampede on Monday night. One last thing we’ll say about the Netflix pickup is that it’s almost ironic that a show A&E considered to be “too old” has been picked up by the hippest, trendiest provider of content today. Basically, now it is the network that looks ancient for its outdated way of thinking.
