‘Chicago PD’ season 2, episode 8 preview: Sophia Bush, cast take on ‘Assignment of the Year’

Tonight, NBC aired a brand-new episode of “Chicago PD” season 2, and we would by and large consider it to be a heck of a crazy finale to the epic crossover event that took place starting with last night’s new episode of “Chicago Fire.”

Next week, the NBC series is going to be getting back to its roots a little bit, and that is telling an isolated story that gives many of its characters something specific to do. Want to see some specifics? The episode is titled “Assignment of the Year,” and you can read the official synopsis below:

“While Antonio (Jon Seda) continues his off-duty security job for Asher (guest star Michael Park) and Layla (guest star India De Beaufort), Asher is killed. Voight (Jason Beghe) and Olinsky (Elias Koteas) make sure Antonio is covered. While they work the case Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) and Lindsay (Sophia Bush) go undercover in a rather uncomfortable location. Kot (guest star Chris Agos) shows up to ask Lindsay for an answer.”

This episode seems to be an eventful one, and most because it feels like almost all of these characters are being thrown right into the fire with a variety of different cases. For some reason, though, we find ourselves largely asking one question: Who is the one getting the assignment of the year? You can’t title an episode this without us asking questions!
