‘The Originals’ season 2, episode 7 preview: Joseph Morgan’s Klaus goes after Esther, again
While “The Originals” has taken a variety of various detours throughout the second season of the show so far, there has been one issue bubbling underneath the surface since almost the very beginning: The return of Mikael and Esther to this world, and what that means for Klaus.
So far, there have been awkward dinner parties, other old favorites, violence, and some background into who these people really are. Tonight’s episode, for example, was a tremendous showcase for the Mikael and Esther characters.
So what comes next week? How do you top everything else? The next episode is entitled “Chasing the Demon’s Tail,” which sounds even on the surface pretty darn cool. We feel this way even more so now that we have checked out the official synopsis below:
“When Klaus (Joseph Morgan) discovers that Elijah (Daniel Gillies) has been afflicted by Esther’s (Sonja Sohn) magic, he heads to the bayou in search of an antidote, but quickly realizes he’s not alone. Armed with intel gathered by Aiden (guest star Colin Woodell), Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) teams up with him, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), Cami (Leah Pipes) and Josh (guest star Steven Kruger) and launches a plan to take down Vincent (guest star Yusuf Gatewood) by exploiting his one weakness. Meanwhile, with Esther determined to carry out her plan, Vincent and Kaleb (guest star Daniel Sharman) are forced to reconsider their own strategies. Intrigued by Davina’s (Danielle Campbell) unwavering attempts to create an unlinking spell, Kaleb lets her in on some secrets from his past and brings her to a place he frequented in 1914.”
For those who are curious, don’t expect to see any one of these principal characters from this storyline vanishing for a while. They are all pretty darn important to the story, and therefore all very much appreciated. Plus, we like it when Klaus has around a million different opponents.

If they get a 3rd season (and I would put money on the no), I think they should do a massive time jump…like 23 years…and bring Caroline over for a whole new world.

We want to see Caroline. But honestly it’s a big mess. And why retconning all The Originals history? They had a son not a daughter…didn’t Rebekah SAY that? Ugh.
