‘The Flash’ spoilers: ‘Vampire Diaries’ alum recast as Linda Park
There’s a sort-of-new reporter on the scene for “The Flash” moving forward, and what we mean by that especially is that there seems to be a new actor in the role.
We first saw Linda Park the character on “Arrow,” when the news about the particle accelerator at STAR Labs first became important. Then, we saw her again during the pilot of “The Flash,” as we started to see the beginning of the story for Barry Allen.
Now, The Hollywood Reporter has announced that the CW series has officially cast Malese Jow (“The Vampire Diaries,” “Star-Crossed”) in the Park role, and she will first appear during the 12th episode of the season. Her part in previous episodes was ultimately so small that the show probably felt it could be recast easy. Plus, we know that this franchise has a slight history with this, given that Caity Lotz was not the original Sara Lance featured on the show. That changed starting with the second season.
For Jow, this has to be considered a big deal, given that Park is actually in the comics very important to one of the people who donned the Flash costume. Here, she will potentially be a love interest for Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), but our indication still is that the endgame here is going to be Iris West (Candice Patton). Then again, that should not be officially confirmed just yet, given that “Arrow” has altered its own gameplan thanks to all of the fan support that has come for Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak together as a couple.
