‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Emily Bett Richards on ‘The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak’

Arrow -Basically, the next two episodes of “Arrow” are the two that we have the most anticipation to see. The first in “The Magician” will give us our first real introduction to the Ra’s al Ghul character, and the second is “The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak.” That title really speaks for itself.

So what sort of Felicity are we going to see in her flashbacks to MIT and elsewhere? As Emily Bett Rickards says to Entertainment Weekly, she is a young woman who really doesn’t know what to do with herself:

“She hadn’t found who she was yet … We get to see her in her college years, so she hadn’t stepped into the Felicity we see now. She was still trying to hide.”

Meanwhile, Richards claims that seeing Felicity’s mom (Charlotte Ross) “proves to be a distraction” for the character, and that “keeping secrets becomes a burden for her” as this story progresses towards the end of the episode.

Hopefully, we’re going to get throughout this not only a greater sense of who Felicity was, but also who she is going to end up becoming. Given that this episode was originally titled “Oracle,” we have to hope that it will give you a further amount of insight into just what she is capable of long-term.

If nothing else, we do still imagine that we are going to see more of her with Oliver and some of the other characters in this episode. During “Corto Maltese,” she spent almost all of her time with Brandon Routh’s Ray Palmer.
