‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6, episode 4 preview: On Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, and a deal

Nina Dobrev -Is there really any merit at all in starting over? This is the focus of the latest sneak peek below from Thursday’s “The Vampire Diaries,” and it features a heated debate front and center between Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Stefan (Paul Wesley).

The focus of this video is primarily on Stefan, who wants to leave Mystic Falls and go back to the makeshift life that he has created for himself in Savannah. His explanation for this is simple: Not only is there a whole lot of pain and sadness in this former life, but starting over to him is pretty easy. He can not be a vampire, find new friends, and he’s clearly done this a number of times already. Not only that, but he cannot even go within the city limits of Mystic Falls if he tried.

In the end, Elena tries to make Stefan a deal: If he can convince her that there are genuine merits to leaving and starting over, she will leave him alone about it. However, she feels that this is very unlikely. This feels like a mistake to agree to, given that Stefan can be very persuasive. What if he actually says something that makes her want to do the same? We think it is unlikely; she washes away most of her memories of Damon, and while she’s sad about Bonnie, she has many more reasons to stick around the outskirts of Mystic Falls, including her brother Jeremy and some of her other friends.
