‘Doctor Who’ season 8 spoilers: First look at mysterious ‘Dark Water’

Doctor Who -While “Doctor Who” season 8 has at times had some comedy and lighter moments, there have also been many episodes and storylines that have in particular played to a darker sensibility. “Listen” was a great example of that, and even to an extent, so was this past episode “Flatline.” This is not a show with Peter Capaldi that is afraid of putting a chill down your spine.

Could this happen again in the upcoming episode entitled “Dark Water”? We certainly feel as though it is fairly likely, at least based on what we know right now. The BBC has already released an extended synopsis of what you can expect, and it includes some of the details as presented below:

“In the mysterious world of the Nethersphere, plans have been drawn. Missy is about to come face to face with the Doctor, and an impossible choice is looming… ‘Death is not an end’ promises the sinister organisation known only as 3W – but, as the Doctor and Clara discover, you might wish it was.”

Basically, a fate worse than death is going to be a prominent theme of this particular story, and what you are left to wonder after looking at a tease like this is just what in the world it means. Personally, we feel like this is meant to make you wonder what sort of monsters we could be up against.

If nothing else, feel good that this synopsis makes it clear that the Doctor and Clara are going to still be working together. There have been moments this month where we’ve been a little worried about that.
