‘Blue Bloods’ season 5, episode 5 preview: Jamie’s struggle in ‘Loose Lips’
If there is one significant theme for this season of “Blue Bloods,” it seems to be the Reagan family dealing with a variety of different controversies. We’ve seen church and state go at it, and on tonight’s episode, we saw Frank have to deal with allegations of police brutality leveled against his own son. There is basically nothing harder to deal with than something that impacts both your professional life and your family.
Next week, it appears that we’re going to have a story that revolves a little more about the Jamie character, and how he deals with getting involved in an abusive case. With all of that being said, there is another controversy coming up related to Frank having to deal with comments that were not even made by him. Specifically, we are looking at Henry here.
This episode is entitled “Loose Lips,” and if you want to see some further scoop related to what you can expect, take a look at the attached synopsis:
“Jamie is targeted by a vengeful thug after he intervenes in his abusive relationship with his girlfriend. Meanwhile, Frank must deal with a political scandal involving insensitive comments made by Henry that were illegally recorded and leaked to the press.”
This case definitely seems interesting enough, and we’re just going to have to wait and see what happens when the story actually airs. We do know this, though: The past two episodes have been pretty strong, so expectations are high.

I really wish they would have the characters play stronger storylines. It seems each character has their place and that never changes. Danny is always the rough cop, Jamie is always the alter boy, Frank pontificates at every dinner, Erin always has an internal struggle. The kids are just dinner guests. What would it take to give the show more depth ?
