‘Sherlock’ season 4: Is Benedict Cumberbatch filming something secret? We investigate
It is not often these days that we have anything new to report when it comes to “Sherlock” season 4, and there’s a good reason for that: We’re still a good 14 months away from anything related to the show airing on TV. The earliest a new episode will arrive is on Christmas Day 2015, and that is just for BBC One viewers. It’ll probably be 2016 before this episode even arrives in North America.
With all of this being said, there is already a tiny bit of speculation regarding whether or not Cumberbatch is filming something new and super-secret for the show. This is coming via a Facebook post via the BBC, who claim that Benedict Cumberbatch has been in the process of filming something secret for both BBC One and BBC Two.
What is it? It could be anything from a documentary to a sketch in a holiday special, but we sincerely doubt it is for a particular “Sherlock” season. While some scripts have already been penned for season 4, it’s a little early for production to start. The last we heard, at least one episode will be filmed early next year.
Also, “Sherlock” is a BBC One show, and we don’t know what the connection to the sister network would be. The only real evidence that Holmes could be related to this post is that there has to be a specific reason why this is being hyped so much … right?
Trust us: We’re right there with you when it comes to the desire to see more of Holmes and Watson back in action. We’re just trying to keep our nose to the grindstone, and not get too excited about anything unless it is officially for the show.
