‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Official look at ‘The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak’
“Arrow” 3×05 is an episode that has been marked on the calendars of many for some time, regardless of it is called “Oracle” (the original title, likely changed to not create obvious Barbara Gordon comparisons) or its new name “The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak.”
This is the episode, airing on November 5, that will finally tell us a thing or two about Emily Bett Rickards’ character. You may get to see inside her apartment, meet her mother, and see more of where she came from long before she met Oliver Queen or went to work for Queen Consolidated. The CW released the official synopsis for this episode yesterday; take a look at it below:
“When a cyber attack brings Starling City to its knees, Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) are pushed to their limits to contain the destruction. Life gets even more complicated for Felicity when her mother, Donna (guest star Charlotte Ross), stops by for a surprise visit. Meanwhile, Ted Grant (guest star JR Ramirez) questions Laurel’s (Katie Cassidy) motives, and Thea (Willa Holland) buys an apartment with Malcolm’s (John Barrowman) “estate” money, which infuriates Oliver.”
This synopsis doesn’t give away everything, but we can go ahead and tell you, at least if you haven’t heard about it already, that “Glee” alum Nolan Funk is going to be guest-starring in here as Felicity’s ex-boyfriend.
As for if Felicity could have a current boyfriend anytime soon, we certainly do understand those wondering about Ray Palmer’s intentions for her. We ‘ship Olicity like many of you out there do, but it may be a good thing for Mr. Queen to have a little bit of romantic competition for a while. It may be a good incentive for him to actually get his act together a little bit.
