‘The X Factor’ UK rankings: Andrea Faustini, Lauren Platt, Ben Haenow current favorites
We haven’t had a chance to really match up all of the contestants evenly on “The X Factor” UK until now, but we’re happy to do so today! This is the first contestant rankings article of the season, and we’ll be back throughout the rest of the season to label who is the best, and who is in the most danger.
At the end of the article, be sure to come on in and share your picks in the pool! We’re basing these mostly on performance quality, personality, and voting history on the show.
14. Stephanie Nala – Coming off of a tour in the bottom three. Nice enough, but not a confident enough singer to make up for many of her deficiencies.
13. Jake Quickenden – A good-looking guy, but not a particularly excellent season. He’s probably the second-worst next to Stevi Ritchie, but Stevi’s at least got a personality.
12. Stevi Ritchie – He may last a few more weeks due to personality alone, but that will probably only take him so far down this road.
11. Jack Walton – He barely made it through as a wild card, and there’s not a whole lot that we’re seeing him bring to the table as an original artist.
10. Stereo Kicks – They’ll have the teenage girl vote for a few weeks, but are they genuinely good? This feels like a choir that needs to lose a few members to have a chance.
9. Fleur East – Our current pick for good contestant who will probably be eliminated way before it’s her time to actually go home.
8. Lola Saunders – Another candidate for that. Remember that the Girls tend to be eliminated long before they should Paging Ella Henderson here!
7. Paul Akister – He’s had a ton of screen time, but we’re still waiting to see what puts his ceiling any higher than the next Craig Colton.
6. Chloe Jasmine – An extremely fascinating, talented performer. However, one who also struggles when it comes to creating a connection with viewers. We’re really interested to watch her story.
5. Only the Young – Louis’ groups are probably screwed this year, but these four at least have the talent to make a pretty deep run in the competition.
4. Jay James – One of the best auditions, and then was surprisingly good singing “Changing” during the live shows this past weekend.
3. Ben Haenow – An excellent voice. We almost feel like he’d be better as the frontman for a band, but we don’t want to lose him at any point in the near future.
2. Lauren Platt – She probably has the best potential to be a real pop star after this. She’s almost like a bubblegum Cher Lloyd with a little Elsa mixed in! Very talented, likable, and safe for a long time.
1. Andrea Faustini – We don’t even know if anyone is really close to Andrew right now. He’s a little old-fashioned, but his songs have been almost pitch-perfect and he’s such a funny, interesting guy. He’s clearly in the driver’s seat.
We’ll have some song spoilers up tomorrow, so be on the lookout for that at this link. You can also sign up to get some further TV updates on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo via ITV.)
