‘The Good Wife’ season 6, episode 5 preview: Carrie Preston returns; Alicia, Elsbeth face off

Carrie Preston -For all those who love Carrie Preston, this is just one of many reasons to be anticipating next weekend’s episode of “The Good Wife.” After all, she is going to be making a return to the fold as the notorious Elsbeth. While tonight’s episode introduced quite a bit of the State’s Attorney plotline, we almost like that there are parts of next week’s “Shiny Objects” (funny name) that will be rather old-school. If you love the dramatic court battles that this series likes to bring to the table, odds are you are probably going to enjoy this story.

Many other guest stars are also going to be stopping by in this episode, and you can see a full list of them alongside other plot details in the CBS synopsis below:

“When Alicia and Dean represent a fired female CEO in a sex discrimination suit against her company, they face a tough defense team in familiar foes Elsbeth Tascioni and Rayna Hecht. Meanwhile, a hacker seizes control and threatens to delete all of Florrick/Agos/Lockhart’s files, sending the firm into panic mode when he demands a ransom … Carrie Preston and Jill Hennessy guest star as lawyers Elsbeth Tascioni and Rayna Hecht. Kyle MacLachlan reprises his role of AUSA Josh Perotti. Taye Diggs and Steven Pasquale return as Florrick/Agos/Lockhart partner Dean Levine-Wilkins and campaign manager Jonathan Elfman.”

Basically, you know you are doing some things right on your show when your list of guest actors is just about as long as the list of events that are actually going to transpire on the next new episode. There are many reasons to be excited, and also reasons to be afraid for Alicia. As we’ve seen many times over, Elsbeth is not to be messed with.
