‘The Originals’ season 2 spoilers: The larger story of Nathaniel Buzolic’s Kol
If you watched the premiere of “The Originals,” and we really hope you did by now since it’s five days since the episode aired and you’re reading this article, then you already know the good news about Kol: He’s coll! Whether or not you wanted to see Nathaniel Buzolic play the character in the present is a worthy debate, but for now, you can at least settle for more of the character, and also more of Nate in the past.
This show does love its flashbacks, and one of those that you are going to see into the second season is all about where we first saw the character many years ago on “The Vampire Diaries.” It’s a trip back in time, just now when everyone was wearing leather jackets or saying things like “groovy” around the clock.
Speaking about this subject to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Michael Narducci did a good job of laying out the situation for the character, and also at the same time teasing more of what you’re going to be able to expect:
“When we first met the Original family, Kol Mikaelson is undaggered and he’s walking around, and he’s dressed in garb that looks like it’s from the early 20th century … He’s ostensibly been daggered since that time, [so] what was the story of that and what did that look like? We want to tell a bigger story that gives us an element or an idea of where everybody was throughout their time. Klaus daggered his siblings for a reason and what was that reason?”
In other words, you’re hopefully going to have an opportunity to see more of Kol being awesome. Given that the show is titled “The Originals,” the character’s got to be sticking put in some way for a while, regardless of who is playing him.
