‘The Flash’ spoilers: Could ‘Alias’ alum join Robbie Amell as Firestorm?
We have been waiting for a long time to see how Firestorm could play out on a TV series, and we are getting closer than ever to learning now courtesy of “The Flash.”
You likely knew already that “The Tomorrow People” star Robbie Amell has already signed on to be Robbie Raymond, the supposedly late fiance of Caitlin Snow who is one half of the popular DC Comics character. Now, we know that “Alias” alum Victor Garber has been cast officially to be the other half.
Garber’s character is Dr. Martin Stein, a powerful nuclear physicist who is somewhat cocky, and willing to make big sacrifices in his personal life for the sake of advancement. As a result of the particle accelerator incident, he ends up becoming fused with Raymond, and the two become Firestorm. (At least, this is the direction we assume the story is heading based on the comic origins.)
With the show’s success already, we can now go ahead and start pondering some of where it could go moving forward, and how Firestorm could be a big part of the equation. A back nine episode order is practically confirmed, and we feel like if the series maintains another above a 1.0 in the 18-49 demographic, it will probably be handed a renewal well before the upfronts for The CW in May.
In addition to Firestorm, some of the other DC characters confirmed for this season include Girder, Captain Cool, Heat Wave, and Shrapnel. There are also many others to be unveiled.
