‘Reign’ season 2, episode 2 preview: Who should Mary be worried about?
During the premiere of “Reign” last week, Mary had quite a bit on her mind, and quite a bit to deal with. Not only was Francis’ new child a distraction, but some was a plague. With all of this in mind, the Queen may not be entirely so aware just yet of the repercussions of some of her actions.
However, that may change over time as we find out a little more about the new character, and potential villain, by the name of Narcisse. He is going to be out for some sort of vengeance after what happened to his son, but he’s not going to approach the situation in a brash, cruel way. Rather, actor Craig Parker teases to TVLine that we could see a long, methodical process towards his character trying to get precisely what he wants:
“His son has been murdered, and as much as [Narcisse] is seen as a villain, it was his baby boy that Mary threw into that room of plague … There’s an absolute father’s fury there, but it’s tempered by a very savvy political mind. Throughout the episodes we’ve shot so far, there are a number of personal sides to this man, but he’s always playing a political game.”
Personally, we find these sort of characters far more dangerous than someone who is going to come out and law all of their cards on the table. If Narcisse continues to make Mary guess as to his intentions, then she may have someone here to genuinely worry about.
Ultimately, we’ll just have to wait and see from here. New episodes of “Reign” air every Thursday on The CW.
