ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 4, episode 3 preview: Emily VanCamp and survival in ‘Ashes’
Next week, “Revenge” has a heck of an episode coming up in “Ashes,” which is going to once again put Emily Thorne in an extremely precarious position. This time around, though, it may be at the hands of someone she never saw coming: David Clarke.
This episode will start with the Stowaway in flames, and Emily’s chances of survival are bleak. She has to find a way to make it through this, but then after that, things are not going to be getting any better when she runs into her own father. Take a look at the episode’s synopsis below:
“Emily’s life is on the line as Victoria orchestrates a family reunion with deadly potential, regardless of who gets caught in the crossfire.”
The promo basically only further accentuates the insane situation that some of these characters are in at the moment. For example, how is someone like Jack going to even know to save Emily? How will anyone know? Even for Charlotte, there is no way this situation ends particularly well, either. We don’t see the show surviving without Emily VanCamp on it, so we assume she survives. What happens as a result of this attempt on her life then? Also, she blatantly lied to a witness about whether or not anyone was inside the tavern at the time the fires were first lit.
We’re only three episodes into this season, but rest assured that things are already going off in crazy directions on this show.

What vexes me so is David’s naivete — his short-sighted ‘love’ for
Victoria; that virtually everything of which ‘Vicki’, the opportunistic
slut accuses Emily (e.g. ‘pathological liar’) is true of herself…
A great, if not the greatest part of Emily’s quest for revenge was initially
predicated on retribution for her father’s framing, and subsequent fall
from grace…If this lovelorn idiot doesn’t wake up, I should say Emily
ought to forget who she once knew as David Clarke — to pursue a life of
her own with Jack…I mean, after all, David did elope with ‘Vicki’ of
his own volition, and the way I see it, he’s as much to blame for his
daughter’s foregone childhood as the Graysons — perhaps even more so
than Victoria…
At the rate the show’s going, I think an intervention by Kara Clarke is in short order, if for no other reason than to rescue her daughter from her ex’s stupidity.

Then shut up and stop watching it. These past couple of episodes have been better then a good chunk of season 2. At least in this season stuff is finally happening, instead of all of the filler that took up most of season 2 and some of season 3. No one is forcing you to watch anything, so stop bringing the show down for those who are enjoying enjoying it.
