‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8, episode 4 preview: Raj – Emily conflict; Stuart’s new job

Laura Spencer -While tonight’s episode of “The Big Bang Theory” was a story about baseball, the show is moving into more familiar territory next week with “The Hook-Up Reverberation.” Why? It is all about some loose ends that need to be tied up from the past.

We almost don’t want to say too much about this story in advance of sharing the synopsis, mostly because it gives much of it away. So with that in mind, let’s not waste any more time here:

“Raj’s honesty about his past comes back to haunt him after his girlfriend, Emily, is cold to Penny. Also, the guys consider becoming part-owners in Stuart’s comic book store.”

Based on the title and the fact that Penny is involved with it, we imagine that this “honesty” will have something to do with Raj supposedly sleeping with Penny years ago. Nothing happened, but there are parts of this that remain a secret to many other characters on the show.

As for the other story, did you really think that Stuart was going to be working forever as the nurse for Howard’s mother? This allows the characters to potentially recreate the comic-book store setting, which is relatively necessary given that it is one of the few common hangouts other than Sheldon and Leonard’s apartments. Plus, it’s a place where all of the men can be comfortable socially, and there are not that many of those out there.

If nothing else, we at least hope that Raj and Emily are going to last a little while longer. We like this relationship, even if it hasn’t been a subject of conversation much so far.
